Wildgoose Construction Ltd worked in partnership with The Environment Trust, Sheffield City Council & Norfolk Park Community Forum to build 47 new Green Homes at Norfolk Park, Sheffield at a contract value of £5.2 million.
The development has transformed a disused brownfield mining site close to the town centre into affordable housing for local people, built to exceed the BRE’s ECO Homes “Excellent” rating.
Design features include a solar paneled roof to pre heat water and spray taps that cut down consumption. Under floor heating and a slow mechanical extraction system draws air from the building at a slower rate, which creates a greater thermal efficiency.
